Mass Concrete

“Mass Concrete” isn’t just about volume; it’s about thermal management. When concrete is poured in large dimensions (typically anything over 3 feet thick), the chemical reaction of curing generates intense heat. If the difference between the core temperature and the surface temperature gets too high, the concrete can crack thermally.

CurryCrete’s Mass Concrete formulations are designed with low-heat cementitious materials (like fly ash or slag) to control this temperature rise. We work closely with engineers in Savannah and Hardeeville on large infrastructure projects—bridge piers, transfer girders, and massive industrial foundations—to ensure structural integrity is maintained throughout the curing process.

Best Applications:

  • Bridge Piers & Abutments: Critical infrastructure in the Lowcountry.

  • Large Equipment Foundations: For manufacturing plants and port machinery.

  • Mat Foundations: For tall buildings on soft coastal soils.
