Air Entrained

While the Lowcountry doesn’t see frequent deep freezes, Air Entrained concrete is still a vital tool for coastal durability. This mix contains billions of microscopic air bubbles per cubic foot. These bubbles act as expansion chambers for moisture, but they also serve a dual purpose: they make the concrete more “workable” and plastic without adding extra water, and they improve resistance to sulfate and salt attacks.

For exterior slabs exposed to sea spray in Beaufort or Hilton Head, or for winter pours where a freak freeze might occur, Air Entrained concrete prevents surface scaling and spalling. It ensures your decorative concrete or exposed aggregate driveway maintains its aesthetic appeal for decades.

Best Applications:

  • Exterior Decorative Concrete: Preserves the finish of stamped or colored concrete.

  • Coastal/Marine Slabs: improved resistance to salt air and water.

  • Winter Pours: Insurance against unexpected freezing temperatures during curing.
